Yesterday I wrote about not negotiating with yourself. I ended that piece by mentioning the importance of setting goals.

Something that really helps this fight is having very well defined goals that I have attached a strong reason why I’m pursuing, and have created an emotional attachment to achieving.

Step one is setting well-defined goals. The more clear your goals, the better you can focus on and defend them – even from yourself.

So how do you set great goals? I recently came across the following framework, which includes much of what was written in You Are a Badass at Making Money by Jen Sincero. This framework comes from the man, the myth, the legend: Zig Ziglar.

I highly recommend this 3-video series on goal setting, and you can find his goal-setting canvas here.
