Inbox Zero is one of my biggest traps. I’m an email-aholic; to my own detriment. Most of my email-related tasks are reactive: coordinating meeting times, responding to questions, and reading newsletters.
So as far as fake work goes, it’s my number one offender.
I’ve gotten better recently, and it was because of a conversation I had with a friend and subscriber to this newsletter, Val Geisler.
You know, no one on their deathbed ever says, ‘boy I’m glad I reached inbox zero 634 times in my life.’
Maybe a little hyperbolic, but definitely helps keep things in perspective. Email should be prioritized and regarded as a tool, not a task.
