two false beliefs holding you back

In inspiration, motivation by Jay Clouse

With social media dominating our world, it’s easy to “see” the lives of others and play the comparison game. We compare a full awareness of our own lives to a very partial and superficial awareness of others, and that’s very dangerous.

If you aren’t careful, you will fall into making two fallacies of thinking:

  1. Underestimating your own intelligence, ability, or quality of life
  2. Overestimating the intelligence, ability, and quality of life of others

These two beliefs feed each other in a vicious cycle and keep you in a place of dissatisfaction and demotivation. But once you break that cycle, you can grow and achieve more.
